A comfortably elegant 1860's granite mansion set on 100 acres with beautiful
mountain vistas, The Notchland Inn has been an operating inn since the
1920s. Uniquely surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest, the
Notchland Inn rests atop a knoll at the base of Mount Bemis and looks out
upon Mounts Hope and Crawford. A magical location…secluded and yet near to
all the Mount Washington Valley has to offer!
Notchland serves an acclaimed 5-course dinner and a bountiful country
breakfast. In the evening, Notchland's wonderful dinner is served in a
single seating at 7pm, at individual tables, in a romantic, fireplaced
dining room overlooking the gardens and the pond. Our Chef creates a new
menu each day. An elegant flair respects the traditional while exploring the
excitement of international cuisines. You'll be tempted by the choices: 2
Soups, 2 Appetizers, 3 Entrees, Salad and 3 Desserts. A selection of wines,
beers, spirits and cordials complements our menu.
During the day, after a hearty breakfast, enjoy all that Nature has to offer
in the area. You'll enjoy activities that vary with the season – including
hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fishing,
swimming, or skating – topped off with a soak in our wooden hot tub which
sits in a gazebo by the pond.
Visit with Notchland's llamas, Sid & D.C., and Coco & Abby, our Bernese
Mountain dogs.
Settle into one of our seven deluxe rooms or six spacious suites, each
individually appointed and all with wood-burning fireplaces and private
baths. Deluxe rooms are spacious rooms with king or queen-size beds and a
sitting area which is usually in front of your fireplace. Our premium
suites, some with private decks overlooking the garden and with mountain
views, feature Jacuzzi tubs. One 2-bedroom cottage also available. The
Notchland Inn is a non-smoking environment.
Come enjoy the Notchland Inn for a romantic getaway, adventurous vacation,
wedding or family reunion or just to relax and enjoy a great spot in the
mountains. One of the top 54 inns from coast-to-coast chosen by National
Geographic Traveler!
